Dr. Saraswathi Jayanthi is the Head of Pastoral Care at Sahyadri School. After earning her doctorate from IARI, New Delhi, she moved to Hyderabad for postdoctoral research and teaching postgraduate students. Inspired by Krishnamurti’s philosophy of education, she joined Rishi Valley as a Biology teacher. During her seven years there, she served as a senior Biology teacher and House Parent.
She then transitioned to an international school in Hyderabad, where she was the Dean of Students, overseeing student affairs and wellness while teaching IB Biology. Her experiences at Rishi Valley and Sreenidhi International School emphasized the importance of inquiry and the freedom to question.
Dr. Saraswathi brings extensive expertise in Child Protection and Mental Health, joining Sahyadri School in 2023 to enhance its well-being program. She believes in holistic child development, where students feel both safe and empowered. She enjoys engaging with students amidst the picturesque beauty and wilderness of Sahyadri.
